How do you teach TOEIC?
First of all, what is TOEIC? It's an exam that allows you to assess your level of English. It's a 3-hour exam with a reading and listening section. The more points you score, the higher your level. In general, companies look for a B2-C1 level.
Here are some tips and methods that you, as a teacher, can use with your students:
There are as many ways of teaching as there are teachers! With my students, we do mock TOEIC sessions, then we correct (with explanations when they ask me for them! ). In group classes like at IUT or university, these sessions can take longer to correct because several students ask me different questions.
When it comes to one-to-one lessons, things obviously go more quickly.
It's essential to revise the TOEIC vocabulary and the associated grammar. You'll often find all this in the manuals you find in bookshops or on the internet.
When you are at home, practise with the manuals under the conditions and at the time of the real exam. The manuals have corrections and scripts. This allows you to self-correct.
Listening to and reading as much English as possible will also help. Podcasts, YouTube videos, netflix, English conversation groups, magazines, newspaper articles, books...
Get some grammar books. The Assimil range is the one I often recommend. You'll find the corrections at the end.
